Hello YAPers! I wanted to share some information with you on behalf of Grammerly and International Literacy Day. I didn't know there was such a thing, but apparently, there is! If we can do our part to spread the word about reading, then the YAP is glad to help.

So, take a look at Firstbook and RIF for more information, or to support these causes. And more than anything else, read, read, read!

Until the YAP resumes from its "physical" hiatus, don't forget our motto ... "Anything is possible, as long as you believe!"

It seems like only yesterday, I was posting about the end of the 2014-2015 school year. And now, the 2015-2016 school year is here! I hope you all enjoyed your summer break, and did lots of reading to beat the summer slump.

So, cheers to a new school year and all of the wonderful things to come. Before you know it, we'll be jumping into Halloween costumes and eating waaay too many sugary treats.

Summer Break 2015

Can you believe it? The 2014-2015 school year is over! With summer comes lots and lots of ... reading! Make sure you register with your local library for their summer reading program. If you live in Charlotte, here's the link

Get ahead of the summer slump and read as much as you can. And when you're not reading, make sure you to have lots and lots of fun!

Although the YAP is still on a "physical" hiatus, don't forget our motto ... "Anything is possible, as long as you believe!"

Summer Break 2015

Can you believe it? School is over! Well, at least is in for some parts of the country. For those of you in my former home states of New Jersey and New York, you're almost there!

With summer comes lots and lots of ... reading! Make sure you register with your local library for their summer reading program. If you live in Charlotte, here's the link. Summer reading begins for kids and adults on June 16, 2015.

Hello YAP parents and children! Can you believe February is almost over? I certainly can't. If you are looking for a new book this Black History Month, I highly recommend 28 DAYS; MOMENTS IN BLACK HISTORY THAT CHANGED THE WORLD. There is a new person to read about every day of the month.

For those who entered Eifrig Publishing's RoAR/YACK writing contest, the deadline was December 31, 2014, so good luck!

Until next time, keep reading and writing, writing, writing away! Oh yeah, don't forget the YAP motto... "Anything is possible, as long as you believe!"
