Hiatus

Hello YAP parents and children. The YAP is on hiatus until further notice. Please continue to check back for programming updates at your convenience. Thank you to all who have supported this venture over the years. It wouldn't be the program it is today without, YOU!

Until next time, keep reading and/or writing, writing, writing away! Oh yeah, don't forget the YAP motto... "Anything is possible, as long as you believe!"

Magical Sunday

A huge thank you to all of those young authors who came out to our first session of the new school year. I enjoyed hearing all of the stories detailing how you would spend your day if you were a magician. Stay tuned for next month's date, location and general program information.

Until next time, keep reading and/or writing, writing, writing away! Oh yeah, don't forget the YAP motto... "Anything is possible, as long as you believe!"

Sweet Summer

Hello, everyone. By now, your summer is in full swing. Maybe you're in camp, away visiting family in another city or state, or keeping busy with a great summer read. No matter what it is you're doing this summer, have lots of fun. For those who are open to trying something new, check out your favorite book on audio. I'm sure your local library has audio books on CD or for download via phone or other mobile device, with your parents permission, of course.

If you're in Charlotte, make sure you sign up for the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library's annual summer reading program. They've got lots of fun prizes if you reach your reading goal!

Until next time, keep reading and/or writing, writing, writing away! Oh yeah, don't forget the YAP motto..."Anything is possible, as long as you believe!"

See you...

In September. I always loved that song, especially when I was kid and ready for summer break. While we're still a month away from the last day of school, today was our last YAP session of 2012-2013. However, that doesn't mean it's time to stop reading and writing.

I am in a good mood when...

I am writing! That was April's theme, with the help of Tameka Fryer Brown's new picture book:  MY COLD PLUM LEMON PIE BLUESY MOOD! From what I gathered, most of my young authors are in a good mood when they are doing things they love. For example:  drawing, playing with siblings, going on trips, helping others and meeting new friends. So, what puts you in a good mood?

Until next time, keep reading and/or writing, writing, writing away! Oh yeah, don't forget the YAP motto..."Anything is possible, as long as you believe!"
